The perfect compliment for your Spark Plug EFHW Transformer. This is PVC jacketed 24 ga tinned copper wire cut to a 40 meter half wave length (67’ +/-). This outstanding portable antenna wire is super light (weights only 2.2 Oz), decently strong and is destined to provide long life and pages and pages of QSO’s. The wire is rated for 150 W’s so this will provide a match for your portable QRP Op and your portable QRO Op (100 W).
The 24 ga wire matches perfectly with hand thrown deployment strategies. Whether your choice is a golf ball, arborists bag or favorite weight, this wire will follow the lead without affecting the trajectory. I regularly achieve 30’ and higher antenna sets using my favorite golf ball technique.
The wire length comes just a bit long and will require some antenna trimming to fine tune your SWR. Depending on your deployment configuration, you may need it a bit longer than the popular “Sloper” configuration. Shorter is never a problem.
